FAQ
What are the benefits of a holistic approach to therapy?
When we look at an iceberg in the ocean, on the surface we may be able to see its peak however underneath the surface, there is often a much larger structure that’s holding that peak in place. Holistic Counselling and Holistic Psychology approaches look at treating what’s underneath, working to treat the problem at its core, as well as address the ‘peak’ (the symptoms and problems that we might be experiencing). After practicing for a number of years as a Psychologist, Renee started to realise that for some clients Western counselling approaches were not sufficient to support them to shift their underlying issues. After studying and exploring a number of integrated psychological methodologies Renee found a holistic approach that her clients responded well to. Since then, she has specialised her practice in providing online and in-person Holistic Counselling and Holistic Psychology services with the whole person, including the mind, body, and spirit.
What is the difference between a Psychologist and a Clinical Psychologist?
How much do Holistic Counselling services cost?
Psychologists (also known as Registered Psychologists) undergo a four-year undergraduate degree plus the equivalence of two years supervised practice or relevant post-graduate studies. A Clinical Psychologist completes the same four-year degree however also undergoes a two-year master’s degree and the equivalence of two years supervised practice. A Clinical Psychologist has additional training and have enhanced their skills in supporting clients with complex mental health conditions. To practice as a Registered Psychologist or a Clinical Psychologist, one needs to be registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and undergo regular training and professional development.
